A bright sun shines in a clear blue sky over a farm field with rows of covered crops in white tunnels. Bare trees line the horizon, and green grass grows in the foreground.

Feierabend x Krautwerk

Working together for better vegetables and full flavour.

Ever since our ‘Feierabend’ was founded and we came up with the idea of growing our own vegetables in our garden for our two restaurants, we have always been committed to full flavour, organic farming, avoiding pesticides and promoting rare varieties.

A goal that unites us with Krautwerk.
Since 2012, Robert Brodnjak, Claudia and Saskia Detz have been running the ‘Krautwerk’ organic farm near Großmugl, Lower Austria. Over the years, the family-run business has grown from a 3-hectare farm into a 1-hectare market garden; it sells its fresh organic vegetables every Saturday at the Karmelitermarkt, 1020 Vienna, and also supplies Vienna’s top restaurants.

To ensure we can continue to benefit from Krautwerk’s many years of expertise even after work, we are launching a strategic partnership in 2024 that will involve collaboration on the planning, design and management of our garden, as well as ongoing training for our team of gardeners – and the supply of fresh vegetables when the restaurants’ demand exceeds what our garden can provide.

To mark the start of our collaboration, our Managing Director Gerhard Ströck and Head Pâtissier & Development Baker Pierre Reboul paid a visit to our partner; you can see the best photos from the visit in the gallery below.
